As educators we believe that the toughest management challenge is always ourselves. Most leaders are really conscious of themselves, their personality profile, quirks, motivations, & competencies, but they cannot manage themselves, especially their emotions and weaknesses. They demonstrate a lack self-control, lose their cool, become unusually critical, behave inappropriately, and are unable to keep their pride in check. Herein lies the challenge for effective self-management.
The world, with its reliance on technology and inter-dependent economies, has become a place that leverages knowledge, meaning the things we learn can become obsolete very quickly. What remains constant is that we must manage ourselves effectively within these complexities and ongoing evolution to overcome obstacles, renew and refresh ourselves, and to fully participate in our own lives.
Do you want to know more about how to practically harness your own self-leadership?
